Note before reading this article:
In a product update on 3/14/2023,
Projects were renamed to Opportunities
Campaigns were renamed to Initiatives.
The largest part of this release will go relatively unnoticed as it updates and upgrades the underlying frameworks that VOMO is built on. Without getting too technical, the upgrades of this release ensure that the latest versions of PHP (the programming language that VOMO is built in), Laravel (the PHP framework that we use), etc. are in use so that we can continue to practice industry standards across the platform.
Integration
The Salesforce integration was worked on the last couple of weeks to fix some bugs that were duplicating data records on the sync from VOMO to SF.
Email Confirmation
We added some small copy changes on the modal/email confirmation when you sign up for a project that requires a background check to participate. The changes are very subtle, but they simplify the user experience and were suggested by existing partners.
CSV Exports
We updated several CSV exports to include a few more columns of data that have been requested for Admins who want to export relevant data from the Admin Volunteer Analytics Dashboard and the Admin Project Dashboard. Some of the new data helps users see the date that volunteers signed up for a project (not just the date of the Serving Date), as well as the age of the volunteer.
Bug Fixes
The following bug-fixes were addressed:
- The Project Create/Edit Serving Dates interface has a very small updated interface and more clear error messaging that will help people who are trying to remove upcoming Serving Dates.
- A bug was fixed with the Group Reservation feature as it was reported that users were able to sign up for Group Reservations when they were not members of that Group.
Anytime Project Dashboard update
Below is a screenshot of the update to an Anytime Project Dashboard. You can see that we added a couple of totals at the top of the page to help make tracking easier for organizations who are using this feature!
