We’re always looking for ways to make your life easier. One of the ways we’ve done that is to integrate VOMO with one of the premier background check companies, Checkr.
Checkr provides modern and compliant background checks. By connecting your VOMO account to their platform, you’ll be able to initiate background checks from VOMO. Background checks can provide you confidence that Volunteers in your Opportunities have been cleared to serve.
The best part of our partnership with Checkr is that we have negotiated pricing to offer a discounted rate on all background check packages when compared to standard Checkr prices. These discounted rates are only available through our Admin Dashboard.
To set up your background check integration with Checkr you have two choices. If you already have an existing Checkr account refer to Option 1. If you do not have one yet, refer to Option 2 to set up a new account with Checkr.
Set Up the Checkr Integration
Whether you already have an account with Checkr or need to set up a new one, you'll need to navigate to the Checkr page in your Admin Dashboard to get started. Setting up the integration means that your VOMO and Checker accounts will be linked through the People page. Follow these steps to connect Checkr:
- Open your Admin Dashboard and find the Integrations option in the side menu.
- Click on the Checkr logo at the top of the page.
- Choose which way you need to connect Checkr:
- Already Have An Account
If you have an existing Checkr account, simply click "Already Have An Account" to get started. This will take you to a login page to log in to your existing Checkr Dashboard to connect your accounts together.

- Create an Account
If you do not have a Checkr account yet and would like to create one to issue background checks right through the VOMO Admin Dashboard, click "Create An Account" and start the process to create a new Checkr account.
Then, click "Set up a Checkr account" which will walk you through the steps to create a brand new Checkr account.
- Finished! If you don't immediately see that your Checkr account is connected, and it says something like "Your Account is Credentialing," reach out to Checkr's tech support, email@example.com, for additional help from their team.
**Not using Checkr? We’ve made it convenient for you to keep track of a background check Status and Expiration Date for each Volunteer using the Manual option. Go to People and look for the Background column next to each Volunteer. Click the button.
