Each Virtuous Volunteer Account has the following structure for how data is displayed and nested. The hierarchy levels are listed from top to bottom with Organization being the top level.
Organization
Your Virtuous Volunteer Organization is the host organization for all Initiatives and Opportunities created in your account. Your Organization will also have a Volunteer Hub! This will be the public-facing side where Volunteers browse and join Opportunities and Initiatives.
Initiatives
Initiatives are groups of Opportunities where you can gather similar Opportunities together under a particular theme, event, or timeline. This will allow your volunteers to easily explore similar Opportunities.
Opportunity
Opportunities allow you to post the details of the Opportunity, including an image, location, etc. Within the Opportunity, specific Serving Dates and Needs will be available for volunteers to sign-up. Opportunities can only happen at one location but can have as many Serving Dates as necessary.
Specific Serving Dates - the dates and times when the Opportunity happens. Volunteers sign up for a Serving Date and get reminders/notifications as it approaches. Volunteers can sign-up for as many Serving Dates as they wish, however, they cannot double-book themselves twice at the exact same times.
Anytime - the Opportunity can happen at any time, meaning it is not constrained to Specific Serving Date.
Needs - the Volunteer Roles or Items that are available during a Serving Date. This can be either volunteer hours or in-kind donations.
- Roles - Roles are volunteering opportunities with quantities for the number of volunteers who will participate during the Serving Date. Once the Serving Date reaches the number specified on the Volunteer Role, the Serving Date Role will be marked as "FULL". Additional signups will not be accepted on the Opportunity Page.
- Items - in-kind donations that are added as a Need to an Opportunity's Serving Date. People can sign-up to bring items in lieu of signing up for a Volunteer Role. Once the Serving Date reaches the number of specified Items, the Serving Date Item will be marked as "FULL". Additional signups will not be accepted on the Opportunity Page.
ADVANCED - Multi-Site Functionality
For Virtuous Volunteer Community accounts or accounts that have added additional sites to their package, the platform was created in a way to allow Organizations to relate to one another in a Parent-Child Relationship. Multi-site Functionality allows for greater capability across sites and allows for data reporting across the multiple Virtuous Volunteer accounts working together.
Parent Account: A parent account functions as its own independent Virtuous Volunteer account. In addition, they have full Virtuous Volunteer accounts nested beneath them. A parent account in Virtuous Volunteer can have multiple child accounts associated with it. All data (volunteer accounts, volunteer totals, etc.) from the child account roll up to the parent account.
Child Account: A child account functions as its own independent Virtuous Volunteer account, but specific data from the child account will always roll up to the parent account (see above). A child account can only be attached to one parent account.
