Each VOMO account has the following structure for how data is displayed and nested. The hierarchy levels are listed from top to bottom with Organization being the top level.
Organization
Initiatives
Opportunities
Enterprise Networks (including Multi-site)
Organization
In your VOMO platform you will create and manage Initiatives (representing your programs) and Opportunities that will be displayed on volunteer Hub! This Hub is your public-facing side of the platform where Volunteers can browse and then join Opportunities.
Initiatives
Initiatives are buckets of Opportunities that are grouped together under a particular program you run, a general category, large annual event, or season of serving perhaps. This will allow your volunteers to easily explore similar Opportunities.
Opportunities
The VOMO Opportunities feature allows you to post the specific task you want volunteers to accomplish when they serve. These include an image, location, specific time slots, etc. Within an Opportunity you will specify Serving Dates and Needs for volunteers to sign-up for. Opportunities can only happen at one location but can have as many Serving Dates as necessary.
Specific Serving Dates - the dates and times when the Opportunity happens. Volunteers sign up for a Serving Date and get reminders/notifications as it approaches. Volunteers can sign-up for as many Serving Dates as they wish, however, they cannot double-book themselves twice at the exact same times.
Anytime - the Opportunity can happen at any time, meaning it is not constrained to Specific Serving Date.
Needs - the Volunteer Roles or Items that are available during a Serving Date. This can be either volunteer hours or in-kind donations.
- Roles - Roles are volunteering opportunities with quantities for the number of volunteers who will participate during the Serving Date. Once the Serving Date reaches the number specified on the Volunteer Role, the Serving Date Role will be marked as "FULL". Additional signups will not be accepted on the Opportunity Page.
- Items - in-kind donations that are added as a Need to an Opportunity's Serving Date. People can sign-up to bring items in lieu of signing up for a Volunteer Role. Once the Serving Date reaches the number of specified Items, the Serving Date Item will be marked as "FULL". Additional signups will not be accepted on the Opportunity Page.
Enterprise Networks (including Multi-site)
For VOMO Community accounts or accounts that have added additional sites to their package, the platform was created in a way to allow Organizations to relate to one another in a Parent-Child Relationship. Multi-site Functionality allows for greater capability across sites and allows for data reporting across the multiple VOMO accounts working together.
Enterprise Account: The main enterprise account functions as its own independent VOMO account. In addition, they have full VOMO network accounts nested beneath them. As the main host account in VOMO, the organization can have multiple network accounts associated with it. All data (volunteers, serving totals, etc.) from the networks accounts roll up to the main enterprise account.
Network Account: A network account functions as its own independent VOMO account, but specific data from these accounts will always roll up to the enterprise account (see above). A network account can only be nested under one host enterprise account.
