Email is still king 👑! Seriously, no matter how hard our society tries to kill email, with new slick communication apps and tools, it still maintains its royal place in this digital world. That's true for volunteer management as well. In your VOMO Admin Dashboard, you have simple but powerful email functionality that's baked right in to your current Group and Opportunity dashboards along with a unified Emails dashboard for Admins to use. Take a look at these instructions below:

Admin Email Dashboard
Locate the Email Tool
Email can be found in three (3) places in your VOMO Admin Dashboard:
- Group Dashboards (including subgroups)
- Opportunity Dashboards (Active, Draft and Past)
- Emails inbox
Group Dashboards, at all three levels, have an Email tab to write and send (or schedule!) a new email.
All Opportunity Dashboards, including Active and Draft as well, have an Email tab.
A unified Emails inbox (for Admins only) can be found in the Promote section (formerly Tools) of the main Admin Dashboard menu.
Send an Email
Now that you know where to locate Email in your Admin Dashboard, let's discuss writing and sending (or scheduling!) an email to your volunteers. In all three locations you will see a + New Email button to start drafting a new email. When you click that button, a new email will pop up in the bottom right corner just like other personal email platforms you already use.
When creating a new email, whether you're on a Group or Opportunity dashboard, every volunteer in that Group or Opportunity will be included by default. From there you can edit more specifically who you want to send the email to.
Next, craft a catchy subject line like you normally would.
Finish up by crafting the body of your email with the ability to edit using familiar tools. Also, first and last name merge tags will appear by default to personalize your emails to volunteers. It's helpful to remember that all emails that are sent from your VOMO platform will come from no-reply@vomo.org. So make sure to include your name and contact info as a signature at the bottom of the email.
Ready to send? Go for it! If not, click the dropdown arrow next to the Send button and schedule a time for the email to be sent later.
Schedule your email with a date and time in the future for VOMO to send automatically.
Admin Email Dashboard
Not only can you and your team send emails from Group and Opportunity dashboards, Admins also have a unified Emails dashboard in the Promote menu.
Use the same process mentioned above to create and send new emails. Admins can also use this Emails dashboard to see every email that is sent from Groups and Opportunities by others on the team. To see more details about a sent email, simply expand the email to view the recipient list and where it was sent from.
Admins can also view all recipients and use additional functionality for individual emails as well.
