How does the Church Community Builder (CCB) Integration work?

The VOMO - CCB Integration  allows you to connect the VOMO People Object to the CCB Individual Object so that you can import and export user data between the two systems.

Once you connect your CCB account to VOMO, you will be able to get started syncing your members into your VOMO Account. The users you import will get a customized email to create their account in VOMO. Or you can setup SSO so that users can use their CCB account to login to VOMO and create their account via SSO.


VOMO People = CCB Individuals

Each VOMO user has specific contact data associated with their account. This is biographical information like their first name, last name, email address (unique identifier), phone number, etc. that the user inputs when they create their VOMO account.

There are two ways to sync your data from VOMO to CCB:

  1. Importing from CCB to VOMO
    1. When you setup the integration through our Setup Wizard, you will get to select a couple of settings as far as who you want to import, when to import them, etc. so that you can launch the integration and get people started.
    2. You can choose to enable a 2-way sync on these users in order to keep data synced up in both systems when a VOMO user updates their information in VOMO. (Note that this will update data in CCB, so if you want to avoid this make sure to turn off the sync).
      1. You can select individual Contacts to Import
        1. You will see three segments in the Users list.
          1. Imported (users who have been imported).
          2. Pending (users who are waiting until the next API sync to be imported to VOMO).
          3. Not Imported (users who exist in CCB but have not been selected to be imported to VOMO).There are two ways to select contacts to import from CCB in to VOMO:
      2. Select CCB Groups (of Individuals) to Import
          1. The list of CCB Groups will display in the list. Simply select a Group and VOMO will keep that Group up to date in VOMO, even when you add new Individuals to the Group in CCB (syncing happens every 15 minutes).
            1. There is an option to map Group Members from CCB to VOMO Groups so that you can copy the same structure in both CCB and VOMO. 
  2. Data Exporting/Syncing back to CCB from VOMO

    Enabling Syncing allows you to automatically send data from VOMO to CCB regardless of if you have imported them into VOMO. Keep in mind that if you did not import the user into VOMO, there is a good chance that a duplicate would be created in CCB for the user.
    1. Enable Custom Syncing
      1. When you toggle on Custom Syncing VOMO user's contact data will start syncing back to CCB. You can use our mapping tool to choose which VOMO Objects and data will be synced in the CCB Individual Object. 
      2. If you wish to edit the default mapping, simply change the data mapping tool from the defaults however you would likeThere are several to choose from, and you can even create a custom value to send along with the People data that is going back to CCB.
